SAPS NEWS: 3 Suspects Arrested for House Breaking and Theft in Somerset West

The swift response by members of National Intervention Unit (NIU) and Western Cape Flying Squad resulted in the arrest of three wanted suspects for various offences in Somerset West yesterday (Thursday, 2018-11-15) just after 12:00.

Three suspects aged 27,32 and 38 were arrested yesterday (Thursday, 2018-11-15) in a combined effort by members from National Intervention Unit (NIU) and Western Cape Flying Squad. The members noticed a suspicious looking White Ford Focus with false number plates driving on the N2 close to Somerset West.

The vehicle was pulled over and all three occupants (suspects) were positively linked to a house breaking and theft case which was reported in Hermanus. Further investigation established that the trio are linked to several cases reported in Sea Point, Table View, Milnerton and Bellville.

Inside the vehicle police seized a safe and other stolen property. A case of house breaking and theft are under investigation more cases is expected to be added.

They suspects are due to make a court appearance in several courts once charged.

Members are commended for their vigilance which led to the speedy arrests.
