Suspects Fire Shots After Business Break-In early this morning in Parkgate, KZN

At approximately 03:42 this morning members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to Parkgate - Verulam after receiving reports from residents in the area of shots being fired in the vicinity of a tuck shop. Upon arrival Reaction Officers establised that suspects had gained entry into the tuck shop by breaking a hole in the wall with the use of large hammers. They then ransacked the shop and stole airtime, cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash. The manager who was asleep in a room attached to the tuck shop attempted to raise the alarm when the suspects fled. They fired several shots while making their escape. No one was injured during the shooting. It could not be established if a vehicle was used or if the suspects had fled the scene on foot.
