The family of former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates Captain Senzo Meyiwa says it's concerned that that the mastermind behind his murder is still at large.
Five suspects arrested for their alleged involvement in Meyiwa's murder are expected to appear in the Boksburg Magistrate's Court east of Johannesburg today.
They were arrested
in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
The late soccer star's brother Sfiso Meyiwa says they hope the mastermind will soon be nabbed.
He says, "Although w e are grateful of the arrests made, we remain anxious that the mastermind was not arrested.
In the view of the established cooperation between the legal team from AfriForum and SAPS, we remain hopeful that more arrests will follow." Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele says he finally fulfilled a promise to the Meyiwa family to bring Senzo's killers to book.
Speaking outside the soccer star's home at Umlazi south of Durban, Cele says there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
Cele visited the family yesterday to officially update them on the arrests of the
Meyiwa was shot and killed at the home of his singer girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in Ekurhuleni in 2014.
