A group of South Africa's musical theatre stars, who are still unemployed after six months of the lockdown, is visiting various hospitals in three cities to bring hope to healthcare workers and patients during the state of disaster.
The ensemble, travelling in open- top double- decker buses, will head to
several hospitals in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town over the next week.
One of the organisers, Debra de Souza, says the performers will also celebrate Heritage month, by only singing well-known local songs.
The buses will park close to the buildings when they sing.
Patients and staff will be able to watch them perform through open windows and doors and from a safe distance.
The organisers say the initiative is part of project "Hope-tober" to dedicate next month as a month of hope for all citizens.
In this case they're planning to take hope, through the joy of music and song, to patients and to health- workers and -professionals.
