Interpreters and the secretaries of High Court judges in Cape Town have heeded the call by President Cyril Ramaphosa to join in the challenge to dance the famous Jerusalema song, as part of Heritage Month.
Keerom Street, in front of the high court building, was closed to traffic to allow the
dancers space to perform.
One of them, Nandipha Nikani, says they are also grateful that they have so far survived the Covid-19 pandemic: "We responded upon the call of the president to do the challenge, we want to thank the Lord for giving us this chance.
Many of us never get this chance of living, most of them have passed away.
We thank the Office of the Chief Justice for support to make sure that we are safe in our workplaces to provide us with the PPE and all the necessary equipment to make sure that we are safe."
