One of the Mother City's global tourist attractions and landmark for decades already, the famous St James Beach Bathing Boxes near Muizenberg, have been damaged by a fire this morning.
Wayne Dyason from the City of Cape Town's Law Enforcement unit says five of the colourful small wooden boxes have been
affected by the blaze which gutted three of the bungalows.
Dyason says it's unknown how the fire began, but the incident would be investigated: "At 1am in the morning law enforcement officials found three of the iconic St James beach bathing boxes well alight.
The fire was extinguished by the fire department, three boxes completely gutted, and two damaged partially.
The cause of the fire is unknown.""https://scontent-jnb1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-0/p526x296/117325968_3421811327871227_439223039536305481_o.jpg?_nc_cat=104&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=mbRkbEdk8GEAX_qJnsn&_nc_ht=scontent-jnb1-1.xx&_nc_tp=6&oh=c4aae1be45fa6c15b7aa7075d02003eb&oe=5F53F51A"
