Western Cape police say a liquor store has been burgled early this morning in Bothasig in Cape Town.
A large quantity of high end liquor has been stolen.
The incident comes as President Cyril Ramaphosa reintroduced the ban on the sale of liquor with immediate effect on Sunday.
The owner of the bottle
store did not want to comment on the incident.
Police Spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa says, "Bothasig police are investigating a case of a burglary and theft at a liquor store after unknown suspects removed security gates, broke a window and stole a substantial number of high end liquor bottles in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
