President Cyril Ramaphosa has appealed to South Africans to register their domestic workers for the special Covid-19 employment benefit scheme.
The scheme is designed to assist employees who may face job losses in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
The President was addressing the South African National Editors Forum via video link.
says, "We have extended the special Covid-19 employment benefit to unregistered domestic workers.
This highlights the need to register all employees in private households because we have found that many, even the employees in various households, are not registered.
We are now calling on all South Africans to register the people who work in whatever facility, business and even household.""https://scontent-jnb1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/101470631_3218573114861717_4606315647155044352_n.jpg?_nc_cat=101&_nc_sid=8024bb&_nc_ohc=SgnvNfv92ncAX9zkO9X&_nc_ht=scontent-jnb1-1.xx&oh=ae8242ef463bd6da4ab46b9ed767e494&oe=5EFACBC4"
