The University of Cape Town says the National Benchmark Tests(NBTs) will not be part of its admission criteria for the 2021 academic year due to the impact that COVID-19 has had on the testing programme.
The tests assess entry-level academic and quantitative literacy.
They also assess the mathematics proficiency of prospective
UCT Registrar Royston Pillay says the university is also considering amending the current criteria for admission and expects this to be finalised soon.
