Mediclinic Cape Town has closed for new admissions after a number of healthcare workers and other service providers tested positive for COVID-19.
Chief Clinical Officer of Mediclinic Southern Africa Dr Stefan Smuts says currently 26 individuals have tested positive, including 15 healthcare workers.
The individuals in question are all currently in isolation
and will remain so until they are fully recovered.
In a statement, Smuts says nearly 300 potential contacts have also been tested and most of them recorded negative results.
He says the move to close the clinic is a precautionary measure to reduce the transmission of the coronavirus.
Mediclinic says managers will do daily check-ins with staff and counselling offered where needed."https://scontent-jnb1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/100975175_3204075792978116_6779395650971762688_n.jpg?_nc_cat=107&_nc_sid=8024bb&_nc_ohc=_0eHxZG95Q0AX_80m0K&_nc_ht=scontent-jnb1-1.xx&oh=f84d0bd4a6e056c56e9a2495f7a2a78d&oe=5EF1D349"
