A 16 year-old schoolboy from the Cloetesville High School has been admitted to hospital in a serious condition after allegedly being stabbed twice in the upper-body by a fellow learner during the

change of classes today.

Spokesperson for the Western Cape Education Department, Jessica Shelver, says the alleged perpetrator has been suspended pending the outcome of a disciplinary process: "A Grade 8 learner was stabbed in the neck by a Grade 9 learner at Cloetesville High School in Stellenbosch.

The school has indicated that the incident took place during the change of period and they're not sure at this stage what led to the altercation.
