Hawks conducted Anti-Corruption Campaign at 3 Sai Military Base #FightingCorruption NORTHERN CAPE - SAPS, through its investigative arm, the Hawks (Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation), held an Anti-Corruption Awareness Campaign at 3 Sai Military Base, Kimberley
The campaign is another measure to inhibit and educate on the negative and detrimental effects of corruption in both the government and private sector, local to national level.
Chaplain Warrant Officer Monyaki opened the event with a strong and touching prayer and scripture reading.
His spiritual message focused on ethical leadership as part of dealing with corruption.
The event also comprised of various speakers and knowledgeable presentations from different government institutions such as Auditor General, Public Service Commission, Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements
and Traditional Affairs(Coghsta),Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and Public Protector.
Subsequently a concise vote of thanks by the Acting Provincial Commissioner - Major General Koliswa Otola thanking all stakeholders and all law abiding citizens who also assist the police in dealing with all forms of crime.
In attendance was also the executive mayor of Sol Plaatje Municipality Mr.
Patrick Mabilo who gave a warm and solemn welcoming.
Director General Mr Justice Bekebeke with the purpose of the day and on behalf of the Premier MEC for Social Development Ms Barbara Bartlet with keynote address, furthermore extending her gratitude to the police and stating that the police are not recognised enough for their efforts to ensure a safe and secure environment.
The police band once again gave an impeccable and exceptional performance which kept everyone on their toes.
