Southern Cape police have called on the public not to take the law into their own hands.

This, after five men, between the ages of 29 and 33, from Thembalethu in George each received life imprisonment earlier this month for killing

Nikelo Plaatjie during a mob attack.

Police spokesperson, Dumile Gwavu, says the men chased Plaatjie from a house in Zone 9 and subsequently killed him for allegedly stabbing one of the men.

Gwavu has urged the public to report any wrong-doing to the police rather than seeking to carry vigilante attacks.
