Three most #Wanted suspects and 249 suspects arrested during suspect raiding operation in North West POTCHEFSTROOM - In a bid to reduce the levels of serious crimes including contact crimes and to keep the community of North West safe and protected, detectives in the province arrested 249 suspects for various
offences during suspect raiding operation between Wednesday, 17 and Thursday, 18 July 2019.
The arrests included 107 suspects held for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH) and assault common.
The other arrests included 13 for common robbery, 12 for malicious damage to property, 18 for theft, seven for rape, five for murder and 23 for residential and business burglaries.
Out of the 249 arrests, 28 were for crimes against women and children.
The suspects were arrested at all seven poling clusters in the province.
They are expected to appear at various courts within the province today and on Monday, 22 July 2019.
Three of the province's Top 50 most wanted suspects were also arrested by dedicated detectives.
Thabiso Selloane (22) has been sought
since 2015 for an alleged rape committed in Bedwang.
He was arrested on Tuesday, 11 July 2019 and appeared in Court on the same day.
The case was postponed to Thursday, 25 July 2019 and he was remanded in custody.
Michael Ntshingila (33) has been sought since 2012 for two rape cases allegedly committed in Letlhabile.
He was arrested on Tuesday, 16 July 2019, went to court the same day and will also remain in custody until his second court appearance on Thursday, 25 July 2019.
Farai Ndambani (22) has been sought since 2013 for an alleged murder case in Hartbeespoortdam.
He was arrested on Wednesday, 17 July 2019, appeared in court and will re-appear on Monday, 22 July 2019.
The North West Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Baile Motswenyane applauded the detectives for bringing perpetrators to book to face the full might of the law.
