The DA says it believes violent service delivery protests could flare up again in Bitou in Plettenberg Bay due to a lack of communication with communities by the ANC/AUF-led Council.

Damages from last week's riots in the popular tourist town are

estimated to be around 50 million rand.

The unrest by Qolweni residents and the subsequent blocking of the N2 also indirectly led to the death of four people.

Bitou PR Councillor and Caucus Chairperson, Bill Nel, says the town can't afford more unrest and violence due to poor leadership and bad management.
