Eighty-one suspects, including a 13-year-old boy, have appeared in the Plettenberg Bay Magistrates Court in connection with last week's violent service delivery protests.
The suspects face charges of public violence, burglary, housebreaking and theft, and malicious damage to property.
Police spokesperson, Chris
Spies, says some of the suspects have been released, while others have been remanded in custody.
The suspects blocked the N2 for several days, causing heavy traffic delays.
The violence eventually spread to other areas of the town with protesters causing millions of rands in damages to infrastructure and also looting businesses.
The cases have been postponed to later dates.
