The Masi Choir from the Masiphumelele Baptist Church in Cape Town has stayed true to the isiXhosa meaning of its name, "We Shall Succeed", and recorded a spiritual album with some of the greatest names today in the global Christian
music scene. The 15 track CD, recorded in Tennessee in the USA and Cape Town, has just been released. It features among other the legendary American singer, Michael W Smith, "Jars of Clay" from Nashville and "Casting Crowns" from Florida, who have collaborated with the isiXhosa township choir. The album also includes some well-known praise and worship songs, as well as hymns regularly sung by isiXhosa speaking Christians. All the proceeds of the recording go entirely to the Christian
non-profit organisation, Living Hope, that aims to bring hope and breaking the despair of poverty and disease in South Africa.
