Gauteng: Police arrest suspect that is on the list of SAPS' ten most #wanted suspects in Gauteng

PARKTOWN – Police have arrested a suspect that has been on the run after committing a series of criminal offences and terrorising the


community of Sinoville. The suspect who is on the police's list of top 10 most wanted suspects is linked to cases that include hijacking, theft, house breaking and malicious damage to property. He will be appearing at Pretoria North Magistrate's Court on Monday.

Police believe they are making progress in locating and arresting repeat offenders and suspects responsible for serious and violent crimes in the province. Integrated intelligence-driven operations have been intensified and these have thus far resulted in


the arrest of more than 1200 suspects in Gauteng in just this past weekend alone.

More than four hundred and twenty (420) suspects were arrested in Tshwane and West Rand for crimes ranging from attempted murder, possession of unlicensed Firearms, dealing in drugs, driving while under the influence of alcohol, assault, malicious damage to property and house breaking.

Intelligence-driven operations were also conducted in Johannesburg and Soweto which resulted in the arrest of more than three hundred and twenty six (326) suspects for criminal offences that include rape, possession of suspected stolen properties, assault, possession of drugs and possession of unlicensed Firearms and ammunition.

Four hundred and ninety (490) suspects were arrested in Ekurhuleni and Sedibeng for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle, possession of suspected stolen properties, malicious damage to property, car hijacking, kidnapping, fraud, attempted murder, drunk while under the influence of alcohol among other crimes.
