Bullying At Schools: North Coast - KZN
Reaction Unit South Africa has received multiple complaints regarding scholars being bullied at several schools on the North Coast.
Reaction Officers have dealt with a few cases at a Primary School where
grade 1-3 learners were punched, bitten & kicked by other pupils. Other complaints received were off theft of lunch & allowance money.
According to one parent his complaints have fallen on deaf ears and both his children are constantly being harassed & intimidated at a Primary School on a daily basis.
They have returned home with bite marks, blue eyes & other injuries. Some of these bullies are reported to be females students from higher grades.
In a separate incident Reaction
Officers responded to an assault at another Primary School where a child was beaten by a group of students. According to the victim he was being harassed daily by bullies.
He was then approached by the same group who informed him that he would be assaulted whenever there was a Black Friday Sale.
The bullies beat him severely on a Friday during school hours & he had to be transported to a local doctor for medical attention.
Parents are concerned that Educators are failing to curb bullying at schools & pupils are threatening suicide.
