Pietermaritzburg - Bakkie Rolls Leaving Four Injured.
Four occupants of a bakkie, a woman and three men have been left with serious injuries after the vehicle they were in rolled numerous times on the M70 Edendale Road near the Elandskop
area late yesterday evening.
Midlands EMS arrived on the scene and found the bakkie on the road with extensive structural damage to it. Two men were found outside of the vehicle believed to have been ejected from the vehicle as they were seated at the back of the vehicle.
Paramedics started to assess the patients and found that the female had traumatic injuries to her left arm and suspected back injuries. One of the patients that was ejected from the
vehicle had no feeling in his legs and arms.
The remaining two patients were treated for suspected neck and back injuries and multiple lacerations to arms and legs. Advanced life support intervention was performed on the patients before being transported to various hospitals in the greater Pietermaritzburg area for further medical care.
It is unclear what caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle but all necessary authorities were on the scene and would investigate the incident further.
