Alleged Cape Town underworld boss, Nafiz Modack, and his mother, Ruwaida, are due back in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court today on charges of corruption. The duo, aged 37 and 60 respectively, handed themselves over to the Hawks' Serious Corruption
Investigation Unit in Cape Town last week. This follows a lengthy investigation into their alleged corrupt relationship with a former senior police officer. They allegedly paid gratifications to him in 2011 to advance their private personal business interests. The Modacks were released on bail of five thousand rand each. An additional suspect could be added in the case today.
