Limpopo Roads and Transport MEC has stressed the importance of road safety over the Easter weekend. This after at least 7 people have died in a collision between a taxi and a truck on the N1 north at the Kranskop
plaza in Limpopo this morning.
At least 7 people have been killed after a head-on collision involving a Truck and a Minibus Taxi on the N1 at Leeurantjies - Modimolle. The truck caught alight on impact.
Multiple people is reported dead and injured, but more information will follow as people are still trapped. All North bound lanes are closed. Information will be updated
One motorist said that it took him 40 minutes to drive 1 kilometer on the N1 North just
before Kranskop this morning.
The Minister of Transport, Dr. Blade Nzimande, will join the Easter Road Safety Law Enforcement Activation on the N1 North, outside Petroport. This is part of the Easter road safety campaign aimed at increasing driver awareness and reducing road crashes during and post the Easter weekend.
