Residents of Bishop Lavis have embarked on placard demonstration to highlight their demands and calling on authorities to take action on going gang violence in their areas. The Bishop Lavis Action Community joined forces with the Nooitgedacht Primary School in a picket along Robert Sobukwe Boulevard. Thelearners held their placard demonstration behind the school fence, with messages calling for peace and an end to gang violence. Parents say they


are concern about the safety of their children: "We are sick and tired of the violence in Bishop Lavis, Nooitgedacht , Valhala Park, we need police to stand to our sides, our children are not safe, the young people are the future of today, but they are taking our lives why, the president must come also here to see what's going on here."
