The City of Cape Town is offering a reward of 50-thousand rand to anyone who has information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a shooting incident that left two metro police officers and a

motorist wounded on the N2 this morning. Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith says Metro police officers were dispatched to the N2 inbound near Borcherd's Quarry when operators detected rocks on the roadway. Smith says officers responded to a motorist who drove over the rocks and stopped to repair a puncture. While doing so, another vehicle pulled over and one of the occupants shot at the motorist. The suspects then opened fire to two other metro

police officers who arrived on the scene. (Pics: City of Cape Town)
