Member for Energy and Climate Change, Phindile Maxiti, says there are a few simple tips to ensure that residents are prepared: "People must at least make sure they have some fuel in their tanks, because when you receive loads hedding, when you go to the fuel station you find the pumps are not working. When you get to the ATM you will find the ATM is off, so make sure you keep some cash, not a lot.
You have your cellphone everything that uses batteries, so people must make sure they charge it to the fullest to make sure they can wait till electricity comes back."
