DENOSA Limpopo to host Provincial Congress in Tzaneen between 5 and 7 December
The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) in Limpopo will be holding its 8th Provincial Congress from 5 to 7 December at Karibu Lodge in Tzaneen where it will review the progress made over the four-year term to date, as well as electing provincial office
bearers to lead the new term until 2022.
The challenges facing nurses in the province will top the agenda of the congress, including the recent spate of attacks of health workers in the workplace, the severe shortage of staff and equipment in facilities, as well as influx of patients from neighbouring countries in the facilities closer to the borders and the risks that come with this. Non-payment of health workers will also feature prominently at the congress, and so will the issues on nursing education and continuous professional development opportunities.
On Day Two, the Congress will be addressed by DENOSA President, Simon Hlungwani.
Guest speakers to address the congress on Day One will include ANC provincial secretary, Soviet Lekganyane; COSATU Provincial Secretary, Gerald Thwala and SACP Deputy Provincial Secretary, Goodman Mtileni.
Members of the media are cordially invited to attend the provincial congress and report on days Two (6 December) and Three (7 December) where resolutions of the congress would be announced as well as the results of the elections of provincial leaders.
