On Sunday night, 30 September 2018, at about 21h08, CCF Sector 2 received a call of a house robbery in Risiville, Vereeniging.
Two suspects came through the roof and assaulted an 92 year old female victim. The suspects fled the scene on foot with stolen items. The victim managed to press the panic button. Luckily the neighbours realised something was wrong and called CCF Sector 2 for help.
CCF was first on scene and immediately sent out patrollers to block off the area.
CCF also asked for backup and assistance from other crime groups to come and help search through the area
CCF SECTOR 2 Patrollers, Duncanville Patrollers, Falconridge patrollers, Arconpark patrollers, Riversdale Neighbourhoodwatch, CCF Vanderbijlpark, VRU Patrollers from Vanderbijlpark and Three Rivers, APRA, VR Security, Sekuriteit Sonder Grense, SAPS and community members worked hand in hand to catch these suspects.
In a few minutes time there was around 50 vehicles closing and patrolling the area.
After more than two hours of searching and closing down roads, one suspect was caught and some of the stolen items was recovered. Unfortunately, the other suspect got away.
