Residents of Westlake at Tokai in the Cape Peninsula have been left reeling following the deaths of three young men in the area. Police are investigating the circumstances into their deaths after their bodies were found with multiple stab wounds. Eye-witnesses say the men were dancing during a street party when a fight broke out. Resident, Thuli Nyhaba,
says a group of teenagers from neighbouring Steenberg arrived at the bash and a fight ensued: "Everybody was just happy dancing so I decided it must be cold there we can just make a fire to sit out there and watch them. So we were sitting by the fire l, then by three o'clock I saw my son that he was already fine. Then I said ok, he must go to bed now it's time to go to bed. So, I switched off the music but the group of boys were still dancing out there." A parent, Hannie Hewitt, who lost one of her sons in the incident describes what happened: "He went to the shop to buy himself a cigarette. I said he must come to sleep and he refused so he went out and I followed him wearing my petty coat and my top. Then I saw them hacking him with pangas and stabbing him with knives. I fell on top of him but they continued to hack him all the time. I was lying on top of him and I said to them you can see he is already dead what are you doing further? They did not care because they wanted him to be stabbed."
