100 Year Old Chain Stolen In Housebreaking: Oaklands - KZN

Reaction Unit South Africa is requesting assistance from the public in an attempt to locate a 100 year old gold chain & pendant (picture 1) taken in a housebreaking from a home in Oakbridge Drive - Oaklands in KwaZulu-Natal. The jewel that was passed down four (4) generations & holds sentimental value was taken on Monday between 10am - 2pm while the family was out attending a prayer at a temple.

Other jewelry & valuables to the value of R250 000 & R5500 in cash was also taken. The homeowners medication for diabetes & thyroid treatment was also stolen by the suspects. Entry to the property was gained via the main gate that was forced apart (picture 3) and the suspect used a 20 liter paint bucket (picture 4) to reach the kitchen window which was broken with unknown object. Only one bedroom was ransacked.
