A 75 year old woman was assaulted during an armed robbery at her home in Inanda - KZN earlier today (Tuesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa were called out to the scene by a resident in the area reporting the incident. Upon arrival it was establised that three suspects who were armed with Firearms forced their way into the
outbuilding where they confronted the elderly woman and her domestic worker.
They assaulted the woman and demanded to know the location of the safe. The victim explained that they did not have a safe. The suspects ransacked the home in search of valubles and stole a Plasma TV and jewellery.
During the robbery the victim's son drove onto the property and was accosted by the armed men. They forced him to open up the main building where they stole a laptop. They loaded the stolen goods into the victim's Nissan bakkie and fled the scene.
Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search of the surrounding cane fields and recovered the Nissan bakkie abandoned on an unpaved road. A further search was conducted for the suspects however no arrests were made.
The victim was transported privately to a local doctor for medical attention.
