The City of Cape Town's Traffic Department has opened a case of theft after one of its officers were robbed of his service pistol and cellphone yesterday. Traffic spokesperson, Richard Coleman, says the officer was travelling along Prince George Drive towards Ottery - where he works at the Hillstar Traffic Department - when he was stopped by another car asking for directions. Coleman says while the officer was talking to the driver of the car,

he was accosted by the passenger and robbed at gun point. The suspects are still at large. Coleman says the officer and his colleagues are receiving counselling.
