While the detectives were busy with their weekly operations, multi-disciplinary-led crime prevention duties continued, in which different government departments took part.
This was to deal decisively with crimes such as murder, rape, assaults, possession of unlicensed firearms and
ammunition, possession of dangerous weapons, possession of suspected stolen goods, theft, illicit mining and contravention of the Immigration Act.
For the past two weeks, about 2 247 people have been brought to book.
With the festive season upon us, police patrols and crime prevention initiatives have gained momentum and will be intensified throughout the province.
