Police in Mpumalanga says a security officer involved in a shooting incident near Witbank (Emalahleni) on Thursday night where 3 people were killed, has not been arrested.
According to police, two men (co-owners) were missing some of their cattle and while out looking for the animals, the men found 11 of their missing cattle in a neighbouring kraal.
The two co-owners confronted 2 other men believed to be security officers which turned for the worse and gun shots were fired.
The 2 co-owners were both fatally wounded and were declared dead on the scene. One of the alleged security officers died in hospital later.
According to Police spokesperson, Gerald Sedibe, the incident happened in Duvha Park at about 20h00.
"According to preliminary information, the two co-owners went to search for the cattle and allegedly found 11 of the cattle in a beaver in Duvha Park."
"There was a shooting battle between the two owners and two alleged security guards on the farm and the two owners were shot dead. One of the alleged guards also died in his hospital later injuries, "said Sedibe.
