LADYSMITH - Rear-end collision leaves 2 injured....
This morning, two men were injured when a truck rear-ended another on the N3 between the Bergville and Tugela Plaza outside Ladysmith. ER24, Ladysmith Fire and the KZN EMS arrived at 07h15 to find the trucks in the emergency lane.
A large container had come off the trailer of the one
truck and was now lying across the one lane. On closer inspection, medics found a man lying trapped in one truck while another man was found seated in the other truck.
Both men were in critical condition. Rescue Services had to use specialised equipment to free the entrapped man from the truck.
Once released, medics treated the men and immediately transported them to a nearby hospital for urgent care. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
