The NSRI in Plettenberg Bay in the Southern Cape has cautioned the public after spotting 3.5 metre Great White Shark in the Keurbooms River.
While this is an unusual occurrence, the NSRI says sharks are known to feed inshore at this time of the year.
NSRI spokesperson, Craig Lambinon: "It is unusual
to find a shark in the river itself.
Marine scientists of the SA Shark Committee suspect that this shark may be ill or disoriented.
But the warning is precaution to alert the public about the presence of a shark in the Keurbooms River and a reminder that this time of the year, sharks are known to feed inshore along the coastline." (Screenshots from video supplied.)
