Two suspects arrested after assaulting residents in house robbery.
At approximately 19:36pm last night, our Armed Response Officers were doing a regular patrol in the area when they received a message on the Windsor Park NHW group asking for assistance at De Jager Street in Kraaifontein.
It was reported that one of
the neighbors was assaulted during a house robbery.
Multiple of our Armed Response Officers arrived on scene and gathered as much information as possible.
Once all required information was gathered, they split up and started combing the streets.
Shortly after the search started, one of our Response Officers decided to investigate at a known house where criminals like to hide.
Once he looked over the wall, he spotted a well-known suspect which decided to jump walls and run away.
His freedom was short lived after he was caught moments later.
The suspect was escorted back to the scene where they found the stolen jewelry in his possession.
While waiting for SAPS, the second suspect came strolling by the scene when he was positively identified as also
being a part of the house robbery.
He was also detained and handed over to Kraaifontein SAPS for further processing.
A case of assault and house robbery were opened.
It later came to light that the second suspect was coming from a premises in Kraaifontein where he sold the stolen cell phone.
