Colleagues and members of the public have paid their tributes to Constable Donay Phillips at a wreath-laying ceremony at the Sea Point Police Station in Cape Town.
32-year-old Phillips died in the line of duty this past weekend after he was shot by a man at the New Somerset Hospital.
patients were also killed during the incident.
SAPS members and Provincial Community Safety and Oversight Minister Reagen Allen performed the necessary rituals in honour of their colleague ahead of a memorial service to be held at the Life Church in Sea Point.
