#FinalSalute for the late Constable Donay Delano Phillips SAPS management in the Western Cape, colleagues and the family of late Constable Donay Phillips congregated this morning to pay their last respect to the fallen member.
Constable Phillips was killed in the line of duty during the past weekend when he and
two civilians were shot and killed at the New Somerset Hospital in Sea Point by a suspect who has since been arrested.
The MEC for Community Safety, Mr Reagan Allen, Provincial Commissioner of the Western Cape police, Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile, Deputy Provincial Commissioner for Visible Policing, Major General Mpumelelo Manci and the Sea Point station commander Colonel Helena Mouton laid wreaths at a ceremony at the police station where the young constable was stationed, before they proceeded to the Life Church in Sea Point for a memorial service.
Constable Donay will be laid to rest at a funeral in George next Saturday.
