CARLETONVILLE - Pedestrian killed collision....
Last night, a man in his 40s was killed when he was struck by a light motor vehicle on the R501 in Carletonville. ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 19h22 to find the local authorities already in attendance.
A man was found lying in the middle of the road while
the vehicle that had struck the man was parked a short distance away. Medics assessed the man and found that he had already succumbed to his numerous injuries.
Nothing could be done for him, and he was declared dead. The vehicle's male driver was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries.
The man was treated and thereafter transported to Carletonville Hospital for further care. Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
