Murder accused sentenced FREE STATE - The man accused of killing his wife at the graveyard in Mamafubedu near Petrus Steyn, Thabiso Motloung (40) has been sentenced to an effective 12 years direct imprisonment in the Bethlehem Magistrate's Court on 18 January 2022.
On 01 December 2021, at about 16:15, the
police in Petrus Steyn were summoned to Mamafubedu graveyard by the community members who saw the body of a female person lying amongst the graves.
On their arrival they found the body with bruises and stab wounds.
She was certified dead and identified by her mother.
A case of murder was opened and a suspect was arrested seven days after the incident.
He appeared several times in court until he was found guilty and sentenced to twelve years imprisonment.
