The Western Cape Government says it will re-prioritise and allocate R211.3 million to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Provincial Minister for Finance and Economic Opportunities, David Maynier, announced this at the tabling of his Medium-Term Budget Policy Statement in the provincial legislature today.
Maynier says this allocation will be used to
assist businesses, families, schools and frontline services who have been negatively affected by the pandemic: "We expect to spend R75.8 billion in 2022/23, R73.4 billion in 2023/24.
The medium-term budget policy statement
outlines how to we will sustain the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the Western Cape by reprioritising and allocating an additional R211.3 million to fight the Covid-19 pandemic."
