The month-to month extension of the National State of Disaster has been extended to the 15th of next month.
South Africa has been in a state of disaster for 19 months since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March last year.
The Disaster Management Act that is currently being amended makes
provision for a national state of disaster to be declared for three months initially.
After that the Co-operative Governance Minister can extend it on a month-to-month basis.
