Kati was found guilty of theft of R2.3 Million and sentenced to 15 (fifteen) years direct imprisonment.
Kati was a Manager of Inkspot and Stationery Company in Mthatha over the period between February 2013 and July 2019.
She was responsible for collecting cash from the cashiers in store before the company closed, with the sole purpose of recording and depositing the money in the company bank account.
It is said that in the process, Kati would record and deposit incorrect figures of money generated by the company on daily basis.
She would then keep the surplus for self-enrichment at the

Her conduct prejudiced the company cash to the value of R2.3million.
The matter was reported to Mthatha Serious Commercial Crime Investigation team for probing which culminated in her arrest on 15 November 2019.
She got released on warning the very same day.
After a series of court appearances, Kati was slammed with direct imprisonment without an option of a fine.
