Heidelberg Times had the privilege of joining the Heidelberg Community Protection Forum and Heidelberg SAPS during a joint crime prevention operation conducted on Friday 16 April
The operation led to the arrest of a 33-year-old male for the burglary of a pressure washer from a nearby residence.
initially said that he had been given the item, but on further questioning he showed the members of the CPF and SAPS where he had obtained the washer.
He had gained entry to the property situated on the corner of Fenter and Marais Streets by forcing open the steel pallisade fencing and then removed the item from an open garage.
The Heidelberg SAPS Station Commander, Colonel Phiwe Ndwandwe, congratulated those involved in the joint effort in conducting the operation and voiced his appreciation for the partnership which was doing such a good job in fighting crime.
According to Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate (Corporate Communications: Heidelberg SAPS) the arrested suspect will appear in the Heidelberg magistrate Court shortly.
