The George Municipality in the Southern Cape has laid criminal charges with the police, after the ablution facilities and lifeguard lookout tower at Gwaing beach were vandalised.
Municipal spokesperson, Debra Sauer the damage to the toilets, windows and pipes in the ablution facilities will cost them around 30 thousand rand to
Earlier last month the lifeguard tower was destroyed in a fire, and a replacement will cost an estimated 150 thousand rand.
The municipality has appealed to the public to come forward if they have any information about vandalism against municipal property or assets.
