Two people have died and another two were seriously injured following a collision between three vehicles on the N1 incoming, at Brackenfell Boulevard, in Cape Town.
Two other passengers also sustained moderate injuries.
Western Cape Traffic spokesperson, Jandre Bakker, says the incident occurred shortly before 4am this morning.
He says one of
the drivers involved was arrested for alleged drunk driving:
"One person involved in this crash was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.
Not only was driving during curfew hours at play here, but also driving under the influence and people have lost their lives.
We call on all road users to never drink and drive.
Wear seat belts, ensure that vehicles are roadworthy and remind all that we are still enforcing the applicable lockdown regulations, but we need your support."
