Drugs worth over a million seized by police, couple in custody KWAZULU-NATAL - An operation was carried out yesterday on Bhoola Road in Effingham Heights by the police officers from the Provincial Drug and Firearm Unit.
The operation reaped excellent results when two suspects aged 40 and 47 were
placed under arrest for possession of drugs.
They are expected to appear before the Durban Magistrates on Monday, 8 March 2021.
The team acted on information about drugs that were being manufactured and a sting operation was put in place.
They proceeded to the said premises where two occupants were found in the process of manufacturing cocaine utilising cocaine powder with different additives.
Further search led to the recovery of 85 moons of rock cocaine, 3, 7 kg of cocaine powder, 15 spice bottles containing rock cocaine and five boxes of bicarbonate of soda at the same premises.
Cash of R94 160-00 suspected to be the proceeds of drugs was seized by police.
