The Western Cape govenrment has put in place systems and interventions to ensure sufficient oxygen supplies to hospitals. This is to cater for high numbers of hospitalisations in the peak of the resurgence of the Covid 19 virus.
The provincial government says over the past week the combined oxygen utilisation for public
and private hospitals was approximately 73 tonnes daily.
It says this is above the total production output of 70 tonnes for Afrox's Western Cape plant.
The province says it has been working closely with the supplier and managed to secure additional supplies from outside the province.
The Western Cape has now five bulk oxygen tankers allocated for the daily delivery of oxygen supplies to individual hospitals."https://scontent-jnb1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-0/s526x296/139239018_3881081795277509_2422541812215865088_n.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=2&_nc_sid=110474&_nc_ohc=NVkdcnBCJf4AX8ij5rn&_nc_oc=AQlrdR3f5-BCrIRgO8vhbmidJVzKzAjh9cIr_gkb5_RgeS9vEpzpZkujjGX3l7AGHug&_nc_ht=scontent-jnb1-1.xx&tp=7&oh=01e80f25ddf68a87e4a61c07b7d0d02f&oe=602442F0"
