The number of COVID-19 related deaths in the country has jumped to 21 083 after another 115 fatalities were recorded, most of them in the Eastern Cape.

According to the Department of Health' latest report, 2 493 new cases have been confirmed in the country in the last 24-hour reporting cycle.

There

are now 34 725 active cases in the country, of which more than 8 500 are in the Eastern Cape followed by the Western Cape with 7 880 cases and the Free State with 7 280 cases.
