Three children have drowned in the Olifants River at Lutzville, in the Matzikama Municipality, on the West Coast.
The three boys drowned when they were swimming in the river.
All three were children of farm workers, who are employed on farms in the area.
Police spokesperson, FC van Wyk, says two of them
are from one family .
"Lutzville police are investigating an inquest case after the drowning of three boys aged six, ten and eleven years old, at the Olifants River.
According to our reports, they went fishing in the river and decided to swim.
One came into trouble and seems to us that the others tried to help and all three drowned.
Two other children informed the families and a police diving unit was contacted and all three bodies have been recovered by them.
No foul play is suspected.
